Footfall counting and your data


The personal data that you communicate to us, explicitly or automatically, are collected and processed by or on behalf of Citymesh NV, with registered office at 8000 Brugge, Pathoekeweg 9B/006, company number BE0881.653.685, hereinafter referred to as "Citymesh".

Citymesh is responsible for the processing of the personal data that are collected via the networks and places where a passerelle count is carried out and controls the processing that other parties carry out on its instructions.

Citymesh collects your data in its databases and strives to protect those data in a market-based manner against alteration, loss or unlawful use.


Citymesh collects, records and processes personal data of users of networks operated by Citymesh in order to provide users with the products and services they have purchased or for reasons of user satisfaction research and research into the operation and use of the Citymesh services.

You are required to provide certain information explicitly, for example when registering on a network.

Other data is collected automatically by detecting "probe requests", such as the MAC address of your smartphone.


Citymesh will collect, process and use your personal data for the purposes described in Article 1.

We will only share information that you have explicitly communicated to us, such as your name, e-mail address and other non-automated information, with third parties if you have consented to this. Data that are collected automatically, such as by means of a pass-by count, can be shared without your specific permission, but only to make the data anonymous.

On the basis of automatically collected data, you will not be contacted directly in any way.


You can always object to the intended processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.

Once your data has been collected and processed, you have the right to inspect the data we process, you have the right to check its accuracy, you can ask for corrections to be made or for your data to be deleted from our databases.

You can exercise your right to refusal of use for direct marketing, as well as your right to access, control, correction and deletion by sending an e-mail to Citymesh at or by letter to Citymesh NV, Pathoekeweg 9B/006 8000 Bruges or by using the form below. A proof of identity must be attached.


The processing of personal data within Citymesh is subject to Belgian law. The use of our networks and the provision of data to Citymesh implies your consent with this privacy policy.

This privacy policy is changed regularly, among other things in order to adapt it to a changed service or to the changes in legal and regulatory requirements. Changes take effect at the moment of publication. We therefore advise you to consult the most recent version when using our services.


Any MAC address collected will be encrypted to prevent identification of the original MAC address and associated device. The received data will be stored on a secure server and will not be linked to any other data source. For this reason, you will not receive any communication from Citymesh via e-mail, telephone or any other method as a result of the collected data.

Currently, at 20 locations in Brussels, Citymesh is temporarily carrying out a strictly anonymous pass-by count on behalf of Clear Channel Belgium, . As the data controller, Clear Channel will not keep track of personal data such as the MAC address.
