Citymesh strengthens its position as the fourth operator in Belgium
Telecom operator Citymesh strengthens its position as the fourth operator with their new national 4G license. The 4G license was granted by regulator BIPT. With this license, Citymesh can offer 4G nationally for the next 15 years. The company will use this 4G license to offer 4G services to the B2B market and to further expand its service range.
As the fourth operator in Belgium, Citymesh can offer 4G services nationally. The company can use 2x15 MHz in band 7 (2,6 GHz). Citymesh exclusively offers its networks on the B2B market. "This expansion of our service range is very good news," says Joeri Tranchet, Managing Director private 5G at Citymesh. "Thanks to this license we can offer 4G services to our clients, which can evolve to 5G. Another big benefit is that this band is compatible with all existing mobile devices."
The 4G license with national coverage completes Citymesh' current professional range and strengthens its position in the market. “We made this decision to ensure qualitative and sustainable growth in the long term” states Ward Van Ooteghem (Chief Solution Officer). Citymesh has been active in the telecom world for over ten years. It is the only Belgian operator that provides clients such as Port of Zeebrugge and Brussels Airport with large-scale private networks. The company focuses on markets with a lot of potential such as industry, healthcare, logistics and private city networks.
