LTE (Long Term Evolution) is known to the general public as the 4G of mobile operators. With a private LTE network, you are going to use a piece of spectrum that is reserved for the licensee of that frequency, in Belgium this is the 3.5 Ghz. This allows you to work completely interference-free. When you use a Private LTE network, you become a mini mobile operator, as it were.

As the only operator in Belgium, Citymesh has had 2x20Mhz spectrum in the 3.5 Ghz frequency block since 2015. Unlike the other telecom operators, Citymesh does not offer solutions to consumers. The spectrum is entirely reserved for companies that want to develop their own private LTE network locally.

The same frequency block has been chosen by Europe to roll out 5G, making Citymesh the only one in Belgium today that can offer companies a future-proof network that is ready to take the next step in the fourth industrial revolution.
