Citymesh and TowerEye enter into a partnership, focusing on temporary private 4G, LTE and 5G connections for festivals and other events. Scanning tickets, contactless payments and CovidSafe scanning require a reliable internet connection. Moreover, the technology used at events is constantly evolving, requiring new solutions. 4G and LTE offer the necessary flexibility for these applications.

As a specialist in wireless networks and camera surveillance, TowerEye provides the connectivity for temporary installations and makes use of Citymesh's Private LTE solution. Private LTE networks were already used in the past, but this collaboration is unique by using the LTE network for end-devices with a direct SIM card. direct SIM card. Not only will the connection for these solutions be simpler (less hardware, less labour), this also opens the door to more innovative solutions for events in the future, such as broadcasting, AR and VR.

At Ostend Beach, for example, an LTE network was installed that was used for access control, CovidSafe scanning and payment terminals for cashless payments across the entire site. Some other references of recent weeks are Sunset Festival, Kamping Kitsch, Ampere Open Air, Fire is Gold and Solomun 6 Hour Set on the Antwerp Middenvijvers. The collaboration will also continue at the World Cycling Championships in Knokke, Bruges, Antwerp and Leuven. This special week-long event is the perfect opportunity to highlight the advantages of the services of both companies - in addition to communication between employees and operations, the network is also used for TV broadcasting.

The cooperation between Citymesh and TowerEye sets a new standard in networks for events and festivals. In a very efficient way a stable private 4G- or LTE-network can be installed for events. Besides the stability and flexibility, it also has an ecological impact due to the kilometres of temporary cables that can be saved. This sets the tone for enabling more innovative solutions for events in the future, especially festivals, such as broadcasting, AR and VR.

Carlo Waelens (Market Manager Entertainment at Citymesh): "The entire world relies more and more on online applications, on the one hand to stay up to date, but also for operational efficiency. With the Mobile Private 4G/5G/LTE network, we are adding a new dimension to connectivity at festivals, allowing organisers to take the next step in introducing new applications."

Mitch De Geest (CEO of Citymesh) and Gust Dierckx (CEO of TowerEye): "This new collaboration between TowerEye and Citymesh ensures that festivals always have stable connectivity. Time is precious when building events and together our solutions can be installed quickly and efficiently."

Niels Van den Heuvel (General Manager of TowerEye): "The challenge of a temporary setup lies in the short time span from installation to opening the doors. The expertise of TowerEye with the technology of CityMesh enables us to provide large zones with a stable and flexible network in a short period of time."
